Rediscovered by Cesare Civita, a mix of Buñuel and expressionism inspired by Poe. “It was considered an example of ‘paranoid’ cinema. Who knows why we filmed it... Perhaps it was a reaction to what was happening at the time!” (M. Monicelli). Lattuada, an architecture student, was the set designer.
