1845: three families traveling on the Oregon Trail decide to quit the wagon team and follow a short cut proposed by their guide, Stephen Meek. They get lost in a hostile environment and must face hunger and thirst. When a Native American crosses their path, the pioneers will have to decide whether to still trust their guide or rely on the ‘enemy.’
