Al pari del fratello, Jack White (noto come Preston Black), il regista di origini ungheresi Jules White (1900 – 1985) si è specializzato nella commedia. I primi successi li ha conseguiti realizzando parodie di melodrammi e in particolare il film di maggior popolarità di Buster Keaton, Sidewalks of New York (1931), per poi diventare il regista dei Three Stooges. Le comiche con il trio protagonista costituiscono il grosso della sua filmografia.
