Joel Alfonso Vargas

Joel Alfonso Vargas was born and raised in The Bronx, New York. A recent graduate of the National Film and Television School, he is also a former Fulbright Scholar and holds an MA in documentary filmmaking from the University of the Arts, London. His work aims to collaborate with diasporic communities of color, centering on themes of social, racial, and economic justice. Principal photography on his first feature-length film, tentatively titled Mad Bills to Pay, was completed in 2023.

Joel Alfonso Vargas è nato e cresciuto nel Bronx, a New York. Diplomato di recente alla National Film and Television School, è anche stato borsista Fulbright e ha conseguito un master in documentaristica presso la University of the Arts di Londra.
