On the sixth day, Locarno72 woke up in Korea. It's time for the Excellence Award at the Locarno Film Festival. Actually, an Excellence Award and a Palme d'Or: SONG Kang-ho and BONG Joon-oh, the magnificent Korean duo whose Eastern genius has been enriching international cinema for years. It won't just be them in Piazza Grande, though: the stage will also welcome Halina Reijn and Carice Van Houten, the director and star of Instinct, the sixth film of these Locarno nights. Our customary stroll in the competition area will instead take us to the US in The Last Black Man in San Francisco and the French-Algerian musings of Terminal Sud. And to conclude, another great guest of Locarno72: Euzhan Palcy, the bold and strong name behind Sugar Cane Alley, shown at the Festival in a restored version.
