To celebrate the Locarno Kids awardee Mamoru Hosoda, master of Japanese animation cinema, we invite you to dive into his world with a workshop that will let you discover the secrets and magic of animation.
Animation is a trick, an illusion that has an explanation. Once you understand how it works, you will be able to create masterpieces, just like the films by Hosoda.
In this two-day workshop we will teach you the basic techniques of Japanese drawing and animation.

Just like Belle's characters, you will be able to create your own avatar, and start to discover the world of manga drawing and coloring technique with copics, the magic markers used by Japanese cartoonists to create illustrations.

Screening of the animated film by Mamoru Hosoda The Boy and the Beast.
You will need to reserve your seat to access the screening.
All workshop participants will have free access to all Locarno Kids Screenings, including Mamoru Hosoda's Wolf Children (Friday August 6, 4pm, PalaCinema 2&3).
The workshop is free of charge and designed for boys and girls from 9 to 13 years old.
