Gilles Marchand

Gilles Marchand obtained a master's degree in sociology in 1984. He worked at Tribune de Genève from 1988 to 1990, after which he became director of Ringier Romandie in 1998, having headed its Department for Research, Marketing and Communication. Working for the SRG since 2001, he headed Télévision Suisse Romande (TSR) until 2010 and then Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) until 2017. In October of the same year Gilles Marchand became director general of SRG SSR. He sits, among others, on numerous boards of directors and governing boards of foundations and institutions active throughout Switzerland.
