Mattia De-Sassi

Born in the Leventina Valley, Mattia De-Sassi pursued history studies in Geneva for two years before embarking on a diverse career across Europe, India, the Middle East, Iran, and Asia. As an independent consultant, co-founder, and manager, he led strategic projects across multiple industries for over 20 years.

He joined the Locarno Film Festival in 2023 to support the new ticketing platform, later becoming Production Manager for the 2024 edition, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). He leads the Operations Department, overseeing infrastructure, logistics & technology, digital & IT, event production, partner activations, safety & security, hospitality, guest management, film handling and the programming office, contributing to both the development and implementation of the Festival’s strategy.
