Giovanni Marchini Camia is a Berlin-based writer, editor and programmer. He is the co-founder of Fireflies Press, a publishing house specialising in contemporary cinema. His writing and film criticism have appeared in The Guardian, Das Magazin, Film Comment, Sight & Sound and BOMB, among others. He has worked for the Locarno Film Festival since 2017, as project manager of the Locarno Talks and since 2019 also as part of the Locarno Filmmakers Academy. He has collaborated with the Berlin Critics’ Week since 2018, editing their publication Koschke and as member of the selection committee for the 2021 edition. He has programmed film series and events for institutions including Impakt Festival in Utrecht and the Volksbühne Berlin. Having participated on the shoot of Memoria, the upcoming film by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, he is currently working on a book about the production.
