Pamela Biénzobas

Pamela Biénzobas is a Chilean-French film consultant, critic and journalist. She holds a licentiate degree in Social Communications from University of Chile's Journalism School, and a Master of Advanced Studies degree in film from University Paris X. She has a long experience collaborating with film funds, labs, residencies and industry events, including, among others, La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde (France), Abycine Lanza (Spain), CineGouna Platform (Egypt), Doha Film Institute (Qatar). She has also been working with film festivals – mainly International Film Festival Rotterdam, Berlinale Forum and Gijon International Film Festival – moderating Q&As and press conferences. As a freelance writer, she has contributed to a number of magazines (Revista de Cine Mabuse, which she co-founded in 2002 and which was active until 2016, De Filmkrant, Ubiquarian.net, Desistfilm, L'Avant-Scène Cinéma, Revista Cosas and others) and books (El novísimo cine chileno, Uqbar Editores; Dictionnaire Mondial du Cinéma, Larousse; Objetivo: planeta Tierra. El documental de medio ambiente, Universidad de Sevilla; Patricio Guzmán, TIFF Publications). She wrote the booklet Errancias for the Ibero-American film association Cinema23, and was an advisor for their Fénix Awards. She is the former Vice-President of the FIPRESCI (2005-2010) and of the Académie des Lumières (2017-2019) of foreign journalists supporting French cinema through the Prix Lumières.
