Zsuzsi Bánkuti

In 2000, Zsuzsi Bánkuti began working as head of acquisitions and programming for an independent cinema and distribution company, Cirko Film in Budapest.

She went on to become head of acquisition at Szuez Film (and Kino Theatre) in 2007 and worked as a consultant for many Hungarian independent productions on worldwide festival and distribution strategy.

In early 2012, she moved to Cologne, Germany to join The Match Factory as Head of Acquisition. Here she oversaw most of the independent film productions, distribution activities, festival and marketing strategy, film production and development for 8 years.

In 2020 she created the Cutting Edge Talent Camp, which focuses on new German talent during the Mannheim International Film Festival. Since 2020 she has been working for the Open Doors section of the Locarno Film Festival, first as Talent Development Manager and since 2022 as Director of the programme. She also works as an international strategy consultant for the Doha Film Institute, Torino Film Lab and Cinemart.
