Sandra, Samuel and their eleven-year-old son Daniel have been living away from everything, in the mountains, for a year. One day, Samuel’s dead body is found outside their house. An investigation begins, and Sandra is soon indicted despite the ambiguity: was it suicide or homicide? A year later, Daniel watches his mother on trial, as the marriage gets dissected.

I wanted to make a film about a couple's failure. The idea was to depict a body's decay, in a technical way, to make it a metaphor for the deterioration of a couple, of a love story.

Ich wollte einen Film über das Scheitern eines Paars drehen. Die Idee war, auf technische Art und Weise den Verfall eines Körpers zu erzählen und daraus eine Metapher zu schaffen für die Zerrüttung eines Paars, einer Liebesgeschichte.

Volevo fare un film sul fallimento di una coppia. L’idea era di raccontare il decadimento di un corpo, in modo tecnico, di farne la metafora del decadimento della coppia, di una storia d’amore.

Je souhaitais faire un film sur la défaite d’un couple. L’idée, c’était de raconter la chute d’un corps, de façon technique, d’en faire l’image de la chute du couple, d’une histoire d’amour.
