Éléonore fährt Richtung Westen, als ihr Wagen mitten in der Bretagne eine Panne hat. Sie mietet einen Bungalow auf einem Campingplatz mit Blick auf einen See, in dem ein Fabelwesen leben soll. Während ihr Blick von Wohnmobil zu Wohnmobil schweift, beobachtet sie die Gegenwart, lässt die Vergangenheit aufleben und sich von der Fiktion durchdringen.

Éléonore drives West. Her car breaks down in the middle of Brittany, France. She rents a bungalow on a campsite with a view of the lake, in which, it is said, lives a legendary beast. From mobile home to mobile home, she observes the present, summons the past and lets herself be invaded by fiction.
Éléonore roule vers l’Ouest. Elle tombe en panne en plein milieu de la Bretagne. Elle y loue un bungalow, dans un terrain de camping avec vue sur le lac, dans lequel, dit-on, vit une bête légendaire. De mobil-home en mobil-home, elle observe le présent, convoque le passé et se laisse envahir par la fiction.
Le véritable sujet de mon film n'est pas la créature du lac, mais le plaisir du récit. J'ai principalement tourné avec des acteurs non professionnels des environs, qui se sont prêtés au jeu de raconter cette histoire avec moi.
Il vero soggetto del mio film non è il mostro del lago, ma il piacere del racconto. Ho girato il film soprattutto con attori non professionisti che vivono da quelle parti, che si sono prestati al gioco di raccontare questa storia insieme a me.
The real subject of my film is not the lake creature, but the pleasure of storytelling. I shot the film with mainly non-professionals living in the surrounding area, who lent themselves to the game of telling this story with me.
Das eigentliche Thema meines Films ist nicht das Seeungeheuer, sondern die Lust am Erzählen. Ich habe den Film hauptsächlich mit Laien aus der Umgebung gedreht, die sich auf das Spiel eingelassen haben, diese Geschichte mit mir zu erzählen.
