Angolan filmmaker Fradique gained recognition with his MUBI debut, Air Conditioner (2020). His films explore dystopian worlds and themes of memory, mourning, and social justice. He is a member of the Science New Wave, a Global Media Maker, and a Film Independent Fellow. In 2023, he was awarded the SFFILM Sloan Science in Cinema Fellowship and is currently developing his new feature film, “Hold Time for Me”. As a curator, Fradique has contributed to the African Film Festival in Cologne and served on the Berlinale Panorama Advisory Committee. In 2025, he will join the selection committee for Open Doors at the Locarno Film Festival.
