Focus on 42 countries of the African Continent
Open Doors is announcing the new call for entries for its main programs, which will take place online in June and July 2025 and onsite between the 7 and 12 August 2025 (travelling dates included) during the 78th Locarno Film Festival.
As part of the professional activities of Locarno Pro, Open Doors provides a generative space for film talents to develop through its three main programs: the co-production platform (Open Doors Projects), the career workshop for producers (Open Doors Producers), and the initiative for directors with a film (Open Doors Directors).
Eligible countries
The call for entries is open to film talents from the 42 eligible countries across the African continent:
Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Not eligible countries
Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tunisia
