Born in 1969, Ido studied Film and Television.
Ido started his working career in the film industry in 1990 as Head of Marketing and Communications of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. Afterwards he worked for five years in the same position and as assistant to the directors for Cinemien Film & Video Distribution, one of the few independent distribution companies in the Netherlands.
For eight years, Ido worked as CineMart Director and Head of Public Relations and Industry Affairs of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and after that he became the director of the Binger Filmlab for five years.
From 2010 onwards, Ido is Deputy Director of the Eye Filmmuseum, the national film archive and film institute of the Netherlands.
Since September 2019, Ido is Director of SEE NL, responsible for the international promotion of Dutch films, film professionals and Dutch film culture. SEE NL is a collaboration between Eye Filmmuseum and the Netherlands Film Fund.
In the past, Ido was part of numerous (advisory) boards, including a.o: the CineMart, Torino Filmlab, Hong Kong Film Financing Forum, Film Bazar India, Media Desk Netherlands, Script Academy, CineMasia. At present he is a proud board member of ACE, the NFO (Dutch film theatres association), and Moving Art Centre Amsterdam.
Ido is a member of the European Film Academy.
