Editor-in-chief and publisher | Nocturno Cinema
Born in Milan on December 21, 1972, Manlio Gomarasca founded the magazine Nocturno Cinema in 1994, where he serves as editor and editor-in-chief. He has published the books 99 Donne and Io Emanuelle for the publisher Mediaword, as well as La piccola cineteca degli orrori and Monnezza amore mio for Rizzoli. Since 2013, he has been the artistic director of the film label Midnight Factory for international distribution with Plaion. He collaborates as a consultant for Italian cinema with the American distribution company Severin. He curated the retrospectives Italian King of the B’s and Spaghetti Western for the Venice International Film Festival and has worked as a selector for the Locarno Festival, the Rome Film Fest, the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, and since 2018, for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. He directed the documentaries Totally Uncut, Fernando di Leo: la morale del cinema, I Tarantiniani (with Stefano Della Casa), and Inferno rosso, which was presented out of competition at the 78th edition of the Venice International Film Festival and won Best Documentary at the Sitges Film Festival in 2021.
