Edna Epelbaum (1972) studied at the University of Zurich, the University of Illinois at Chicago (MA 1999) and New York University (Ph.D. 2006). In 2010, she took over the family cinema business in Biel, Neuchâtel, La Chaux-de-Fonds and in 2015 expanded to Berne and Delémont. Committed to a diverse cinema culture, she is the Artistic Director of the Festival du Film Français d'Helvétie.
She is the president of the Swiss Cinema Association and on the board of ProCinema. From 2019 to 2023, Edna was a member of the Board of Directors of the Locarno Film Festival. Until 2020 she was member of the Bern Film Commission and has subsequently served on the board of Cinésuisse since that same year. At international level, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC).
