Born in Sousse, Tunisia in 1999, Asma Laajimi is a filmmaker and visual artist who works between Brussels and Tunis. Her work is rooted in her lived experience, exploring and blurring the boundaries between the real and the fictional, the personal and the collective, the emotional and the political. Asma studied design at Essted Design School in Tunis, photography at Ensav La Cambre in Brussels, and graduated with a Masters in filmmaking from LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. Her graduation film A Dog, A Stone (2023) premiered in Cinemed Montpellier (FR) and got selected in festivals such as JCC Carthage Film Festival (TN), Breedbeeld Short Film Festival (BE), Brussels Independent Film Festival (BE). She is currently working on a new project, a fiction short film.
