La regista e sceneggiatrice americana d'avanguardia Dorothy Arzner (1897 – 1979) è stata una delle poche registe donne nella Hollywood della prima metà del Novecento. Dorothy Arzner (1897 – 1979) was a pioneering American film director and screenwriter, notable for being one of the few female directors in Hollywood during the early 20th century. Her work often portrays strong and independent women, from her first film Fashions for Women (1927) to her last, First Comes Courage (1943). Other notable works include Anybody’s Woman (1930), Christopher Strong (1933), and Craig’s Wife (1936).
