Il regista ungaro-americano Charles Vidor (1900 – 1959) si è distinto per la sua versatilità. Nel 1939 è entrato alla Columbia, con cui è rimasto sotto contratto fino al 1948 dirigendo film immortali, fra cui Seduzione (1940), Together Again (1944), L'eterna armonia (1945) e l’iconico noir Gilda (1946), il classico interpretato da Rita Hayworth.
