Anthony Mann (1906 – 1967) was an American director and writer, known his dramatic and psychologically complex Westerns such as Bend of the River (1952), The Naked Spur (1953), and The Last Frontier (1955). Following Men in War (1957), he directed epic films such as El Cid (1961) and The Heroes of Telemark (1966).
