Following a prolific career as an animator, directing many classic Looney Tunes cartoons, Frank Tashlin (1913 – 1972) moved into live-action comedy in the 1940s, first as a writer, then as a director. And he brought his cartoonish sensibilities with him: his frantic style was a perfect match for Jerry Lewis, whom he directed in several comedies, including Who’s Minding the Store? (1963) and The Disorderly Orderly (1964).

Dopo una prolifica carriera da animatore, avendo diretto molti cartoni animati classici dei Looney Tunes, Frank Tashlin (1913 – 1972) negli anni Quaranta è diventato sceneggiatore, e poi regista, di commedie, pur senza dimenticare la sua sensibilità derivata dall’animazione: il suo stile frenetico si è sposato perfettamente con Jerry Lewis, che ha diretto in diversi film tra cui Dove vai sono guai! (1963) e Pazzi, pupe e pillole (1964).
