Paola Malanga
Milanese, born in 1966, since 2022 has been Artistic Director of the Rome Film Festival under the presidency of Gianluca Farinelli. She specialized in film through journalistic, editorial and collaborative activities at the most important film festivals before joining Rai Cinema, in 2000, as expert product manager, a position she held until 2022.
In 1993, together with Gianni Canova, she was among the founders of Duel, a film and television magazine; from 1992 to 2000 she was a regular contributor to Paolo Mereghetti's Dizionario dei Film and from 1996 to 2000 to Ciak under the direction of Piera Detassis; in 1996 she published Tutto il cinema di Truffaut (Baldini e Castoldi), reissued in February 2022 as Il cinema di Truffaut on the occasion of the director's 90th birthday, and in 1998 Marco Bellocchio. Catalogo ragionato (Olivares editions) for the world's first retrospective devoted to the auteur held at the Locarno Film Festival under the direction of Marco Muller. In 1999 she served on the jury of the Cannes International Film Festival, chaired by Michel Piccoli, for the awarding of the Caméra d'or to the best first feature.
From 2000 to 2022 she worked at Rai Cinema, handling Acquisitions and Production, both for TV and theatrical distribution. She is currently on leave from his position as Deputy Director.
