Nemo Takes the Stage at Rotonda by la Mobiliare. Plus a Night of Music and Fundraising for Vallemaggia

Fresh off their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, Nemo will be the special guest at Rotonda by la Mobiliare during a weekend of music curated by RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera, featuring an exclusive showcase following the performance of Italian singer-songwriter Ermal Meta. Additionally, on Thursday, August 1 a public event will be held in support of the “Bavona-Lavizzara: ricostruiamo insieme” fundraising campaign, dedicated to the rebuilding of communities in Vallemaggia that were severely affected by the devastating storm that took place at the end of June, featuring an acoustic performance by Davide Van De Sfroos and many other concerts.

On Saturday, August 10, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare will host an amazing musical line-up curated by RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera: taking the stage will be two versatile artists, offering festival-goers an unforgettable night of music. First to perform – starting at 9 p.m. – will be the Italian singer-songwriter Ermal Meta, who will perform hits from his repertoire and songs from his latest concept album titled Buona fortuna. Then another very special guest will take the stage at 00.30 a.m.: Nemo, who represented Switzerland in the latest edition of Eurovision. Their victory captivated music lovers across Europe, implanting their electropop wonder-hit The Code firmly in minds across the continent. As well as being a mega-hit, the song details the artist’s experience with their non-binary identity, and the sometimes-rocky road to self-acceptance.

Meanwhile, the Locarno Film Festival and la Mobiliare have further enriched the musical offerings at the Rotonda with many new names. From local sensations like Sebalter, The Vad Vuc, Make Plain, and Ele A, to DJ sets by Tanja La Croix and Giorgio Prezioso, these performers are sure to set the nights in Locarno ablaze. Adding to this impressive roster is a special event on Thursday, August 1, the evening of the Swiss National Day, where funds will be raised for those affected by the devastating storms that struck the valleys surrounding Locarno at the end of June. Artisti Uniti per la Vallemaggia (Artists United for Vallemaggia) – an initiative organized by the Locarno Film Festival, the City of Locarno, and enjoyARENA, in collaboration with RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera and Radio Ticino, and supported by Ascona-Locarno Tourism and Vallemaggia Magic Blues – promises to be a heartfelt evening of solidarity and a shared love of music. Starting from 6 p.m., numerous local artists who enthusiastically joined the cause will take the stage, in an evening hosted by Daiana Crivelli (RSI) and Angelo Chiello (Radio Ticino). The event will feature the participation of Italian singer-songwriter Davide Van De Sfroos, who will perform a short acoustic concert with guitar and vocals. Sharing the stage with the Italian singer-songwriter will be Elias Bertini & Camila Koller, Julie Meletta, Luis Landrini, Eleonor, Matilde, Black Horse, DimeBlend, and Karin Cerini. All proceeds raised through public contributions using the QR codes distributed throughout the event will be donated to the Bavona and Lavizzara fund and part of the beverage sales will go towards the fundraising efforts. Additionally, during the Locarno Film Festival glass deposit refunds can also be donated at designated points.

Donations can be made from now until the end of the Festival at this link.
