Enea Zucchetti

Enea Zucchetti was born in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1996. Since childhood he has cultivated a strong interest in cinema and visual arts. In 2017 he moved to Milan to practice the art of filmmaking. His short films, L'azzurro del cielo and Piazzale d'Italia, have been screened at several international festivals, including: Locarno Film Festival, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin. Over the years he has participated in various workshops and film projects, meeting figures such as Werner Herzog, Marco Müller, Heinz Emigholz, Ila Bêka, Daniel Hoesl and Lora Guerra. Since 2023, in parallel to his artistic projects, he has been involved in directing commercials for design brands. His works visually explores the contemporary landscape, with a primary focus on the human-ambience relation. His narratives are filtered by a specific taste for surrealism.

Selected project: "I sogni degli animali"

In a pre-Alpine natural setting, five friends set out on a mountain excursion for a few days. Walking through the woods the group discovers, covered by vegetation, an old abandoned military fort. The structure is semi-subterranean and was built within a hilly relief of the woods. Inside the bunker, one of the characters even finds some old soldier uniforms. An enigmatic attraction to the former military site holds the group of friends in its spaces. As the hours pass, an inexplicable common belief is established in the group: the will to defend the fort. The innocent guys gradually turn into a small battalion of soldiers. One of the characters will leave the group to continue the hike alone, the others will become increasingly radicalized in fighting a, seemingly, imaginary enemy.
