2022 At Night by Horse
In a quaint Swiss village, Wilhelm Tell is a beloved seducer whose charm masks a life of moral decay. His daughters, Wilhelmine and Trudi, are tormented by Bobo, a local wrestling star, leading to their confinement in a psychiatric clinic. Hedi, Tell's wife, is haunted by visions of her dead father and eventually drowns in despair. The family’s grief and anger culminate in setting the village ablaze, revealing the hidden suffering and igniting a world-consuming inferno.
A William Tell adaptation through a dystopian lens, showing capitalist and patriarchal absurdities. Infused with real-world horrors, it weaves surrealism, the style of classic Westerns, and grotesque humor to portray the struggle of a faded hero and his family in a world of relentless oppression.
