Younes Ben Slimane: Tunisian artist and filmmaker. In 2020 he joined Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains (FR). His work has been shown at the Center Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris (FR), at the Mucem, in Marseille (FR), at Selma Feriani Gallery in Sidi Bou Saïd (TN), and at the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje (MK). His films have been selected at international festivals such as Locarno Film Festival (CH). He has received awards like the Golden Tanit at Carthage Film Festival (TN) and Studio Collector Prize (FR).
As an artist, I have always looked for alternative avenues of learning and exchange, and this is perhaps the main reason why I am participating in Locarno Spring Academy. Coming from an architectural background, there are things that interest me and that I want to pursue, like capturing the visual sensibilities within a place.
