Daniel Soares is a Portuguese writer, filmmaker & photographer, who was born in Germany and currently lives in New York. He works in fiction, nonfiction & music videos. O Que Resta, his first narrative short film, screened at several international festivals, such as Telluride Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand. It was awarded the Grand Prix at the Festival Premiers Plans D'Angers and Best Portuguese Short Film at IndieLisboa. His previous short documentary Forgotten, was screened at several festivals in North America including Big Sky, Santa Barbara and Brooklyn Film Festival. His photography work was exhibited at the International Center of Photography in New York.
I'm looking forward to sharing these ten days with this group of talented filmmakers and to learning from such a great auteur as Michelangelo Frammartino. Locarno is one of the most inspiring film festivals in the world, and it will be an honor to make a film in the Canton Ticino.
