Locarno Spring Academy 2025
After graduating in Cinema and Visual Arts at Roma Tre University, Antonio La Camera (1990) attended directing and screenwriting courses at the “Sentieri Selvaggi” film school, and was later admitted to the High Specialization Course in Film Direction “Fare Cinema,” directed by Marco Bellocchio and taught by the Manetti Bros. His short films have been showcased at over 150 national and international festivals and have garnered more than 40 awards worldwide. In 2022, he was selected for the CreatorsLab, where he directed the Italian Spanish short film Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest under the supervision of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the Palme d’Or-winning director at the Cannes Film Festival. The short film premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival as part of the 38th International Critics’ Week, winning the Best Short Film Award. In 2025 he will release his new short film Primo Sangue, starring Roberta Mattei. His first feature film project Demoni & Polvere was selected for the InProgress development workshop 2024 at the Milano Film Network, where it has been developed under the guidance of director Michelangelo Frammartino.
