Hao Zhou

Hao Zhou (born 1992) is a filmmaker from southwestern China. Focusing on queer and feminist themes, he made a no-budget feature about queer sex workers, The Night, in 2014. Zhou's recent works include the personal documentary short Frozen Out (2021) and the experimental short Future Flowers (2022). An alumn of Berlinale Talents and the Cannes Résidence, he has presented films at the Berlinale, SXSW, Hot Docs, HKIFF, Images Festival, and others.

Hao Zhou, nato nel 1992, è un regista della Cina sudoccidentale. Interessato a temi queer e femministi, nel 2014 ha realizzato un film senza budget sulle prostitute queer, The Night. Tra i lavori recenti di Zhou figurano  il personale cortometraggio documentario Frozen Out (2021) e il cortometraggio sperimentale Future Flowers (2022). Ex alunno del Berlinale Talents e della Cannes Résidence, ha presentato film in vari festival tra cui Berlinale, SXSW, Hot Docs, HKIFF, Images Festival.
