Syllas Tzoumerkas was born in Thessaloniki. He directed the feature films Homeland (Venice Critics’ Week 2010), A Blast (Locarno Competition 2014), The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea (Berlinale Panorama 2019) and The City and the City (Berlinale Encounters 2022, co-direction with Christos Passalis).
