Loïc Hobi

Loïc Hobi is a Swiss-French filmmaker born in 1997 in Neuchâtel (CH) where he developed his passion for cinema by attending the NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival.) After several self-produced shorts, he studied directing at Luc Besson’s École de la Cité and graduated in 2019 with his short film L’Homme jetée, featuring a love story between two sailors. In 2021 he released The Life Underground, a coming of age film set entirely in the subway. The film was screened in competition at the Locarno Film Festival and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize. His work also unfolds in experimental films about our online identities such as his documentary New Gods (2020). He is currently developing his feature film projects, both in Switzerland and abroad, with the aim of telling intimate stories in exciting settings.

Loïc Hobi è un regista franco-svizzero nato nel 1997 a Neuchâtel, in Svizzera, dove ha sviluppato la sua passione per il cinema frequentando il NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival.) Dopo diversi cortometraggi autoprodotti, ha studiato regia all'École de la Cité di Luc Besson diplomandosi nel 2019 con il cortometraggio L'Homme jetée, una storia d'amore tra due marinai. Nel 2021 è uscito The Life Underground, un film di formazione ambientato interamente in metropolitana che è stato presentato in concorso al Locarno Film Festival ed è stato candidato al Premio del cinema svizzero. Il suo lavoro si dispiega anche in film sperimentali come il documentario New Gods (2020), sulle identità online. Attualmente sta sviluppando i suoi progetti per realizzare dei lungometraggi, sia in Svizzera che all'estero, con l'obiettivo di raccontare storie intime in ambientazioni stimolanti.
