Sometimes they come back, with the entire Piazza Grande hoping to relive the magic of an August night in 2001. For while the giant Locarno screen is hosting Mohenjo Daro, the new film by Indian director Ashutosh Gowariker, it will be impossible not to remember his 2001 effort Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. Surrounded by cricket games and wild dancing, the protagonist Aamir Khan becomes a popular hero, and the epic scope proves infectious for all the viewers, lifting the film all the way up to the deserved Prix du Public UBS for that edition of the festival.
