2023 Diaries of an Announced Meditation
2023 Celebrate, a Fire Is Coming
In the Dominican deep south, where human behavior borders on chaos and the absurd, a fallen angel grows weary of his purely ethereal life overseeing human activity in the desert. A convent needs money, two nuns yearn to reach the divine, and a mysterious homeless man wins the lottery. Their paths intertwine on the barren stage of underground street racing.
Maguana Racing explores the temporal and the eternal, the seen and the yet to be seen, through observing invisible angels and women close to their spirituality struggle with the desire to enter into the adrenaline of the world, after having been outside looking in for so long. It's a film about the act of observing, with its limitations and fascinations. Here, there, and all the space in between.
